A Visitor Visa allows an individual to travel to Canada and stay for the maximum duration of 6months from the date of their entry to Canada, after which the individual need to either apply for an extension of the exit Canada.
Nevertheless, Super Visa is very specific to parents or grandparents permitting them to visit their family in Canada and can stay for a duration of 2years without having to file for an extension or renewal. To be eligible for Super Visa one needs to be either a parent or a grandparent of a Permanent Resident or a Citizen of Canada. It is a multiple entry Visa which can be either valid for 10 years or for the pending duration of the passport.
There are various factors that make an individual eligible for the Super Visa
- A proof stating that the Applicant is either a parent or a grandparent of the Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident Holder.
- Applicant must have a signed letter from his/her child or grandchild who is inviting him/her to Canada that includes:
- a promise of financial support for the length of the applicant’s visit
- the list and number of people in the household of this person.
- a copy of the inviting person’s Canadian citizenship or permanent resident document.
- The applicant must appear and pass a complete medical examination and must be able to satisfy that he/she has medical insurance valid for atleast a year from arrival and from a Canadian Insurance Company.
- The applicant must satify that he/she is a genuine visitor and will not indulge in a work or study in Canada without authorization.
